RESOLVED: The minutes were adopted.

3.

To receive an annual report from the Chair of the Parish Council

  • The Council acted as a consultee for all planning applications. As always, it provided robust challenge and submitted comments of objection where applications were not in keeping with the heritage or character of the village.
  • The Council maintains the Playing Field and roadside verges. Its appointed contractor (AJ Williams) continues to provide an excellent service in keeping the areas tidy.
  • Significant money was spent on the Play Park with the addition of a “Double Cradle Swing” and “Monkey Bars”. A new foot path has been laid from the Village Hall to the Play Park and two new picnic tables have been ordered.
  • Plastic football goals were purchased for the playing field and have proven to be extremely popular.
  • The Council purchased a new defibrillator which is installed at the Salutation Inn. The village now has two active defibrillators (the other being at the Village Hall) and both are registered on “The Circuit” for use by emergency services. The Council pay to have these checked and maintained.
  • The council has seen several changes of personnel. It has welcomed Lauret Bottrill and Graham Fulton to the council. It also sends thanks and best wishes to Anne O’ Reilly and Debra Langmaid who recently resigned.
  • Ex-County Councillor Tom Smith has always provided fantastic support to the Parish Council, particularly on highways matters. It was saddened to see Tom recently lost his seat in the May elections and wishes him well for the future.
